Valence Care is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
System Administrator
to oversee our IT infrastructure, with a focus on
network management, security, Microsoft Azure/Office 365 administration, and advanced support for service desk escalations . This role ensures the stability, security, and scalability of our technology environment while serving as a subject-matter expert for escalated technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
Network Administration Configure, monitor, and maintain LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, switches, and wireless networks. Troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize network performance across enterprise infrastructure. Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols. Security Management
Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard systems and data. Manage identity and access control through Azure Active Directory and Entra ID. Monitor and respond to security alerts, conduct vulnerability assessments, and support compliance initiatives. Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and incident response processes. Azure / Microsoft 365 Administration
Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune. Configure and support Azure cloud infrastructure, including VMs, storage, and security groups. Administer user accounts, licenses, permissions, and group policies. Support hybrid environments, including synchronization between on-prem Active Directory and Azure AD. Service Desk Escalations
Act as the
primary escalation point
for complex incidents and service requests from the IT Service Desk. Troubleshoot and resolve tier-2/tier-3 technical issues related to systems, networks, and cloud services. Provide clear documentation, root cause analysis, and knowledge base articles for recurring issues. Mentor and guide Service Desk staff to improve first-call resolution rates. Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams when escalated issues require external support. General Systems Administration
Manage software deployment, updates, and patching across endpoints and servers. Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability using appropriate tools. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to support IT projects and upgrades. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 3-5+ years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role. Strong expertise with
Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
(on-prem and cloud). Solid understanding of networking technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, routing). Hands-on experience with
security frameworks , endpoint management (e.g., Intune), and compliance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview). Demonstrated experience supporting
tier-2/tier-3 escalations
in a Service Desk/ITIL environment. Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to document processes. Preferred Skills
Microsoft certifications (e.g.,
AZ-104, MS-500, SC-300, MCSA/MCSE ). Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python). Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management. Experience in healthcare or regulated industries (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.) a plus. What We Offer
