This position offers: $2,000 Hiring Bonus Culture of public service and a commitment to work/life balance Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance State Retirement plan and additional savings opportunities (deferred compensation) Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays Human Resource Contact: 307-777-4356 Essential functions include: Performs repairs and upgrades on electronic traffic monitoring and communication equipment Trains office personnel on the use of equipment Researches new traffic monitoring equipment Isolates failed traffic monitoring devices, repairs, and bench tests equipment to ensure proper operation Trains personnel on traffic monitoring equipment hardware and software and ensures they understand before deploying to the field Trains personnel on the use of field test equipment Field coordination Reviews the list of failed traffic, and monitoring sites and determines what action needs to be taken Leads the construction crew in the absence of the field technician Travels statewide to troubleshoot recurring field problems Liaisons with equipment vendors to research, purchase, and resolve problems with monitoring equipment Works with vendors to resolve problems Knowledge required: Skilled in the use of electronic test equipment Skilled in the use of personal computers and various software programs Able to communicate complex principles of electronic equipment operations to personnel with limited background in the field Minimum qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: 0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Technical Operations) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Technical Operations Technician I OR Education & Experience Substitution: 3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Technical Operations) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Technical Operations Technician I Physical working conditions: May work in extreme weather and involve heavy lifting Works at heights of 40 feet and below out of a bucket or lift truck Working for the State of Wyoming provides employees with a range of valuable benefits and offers a fulfilling career path.
