ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist and coordinate with the Technician and Lead Technician regarding on-site scheduling and timely equipment delivery.
Support technicians in installing, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting systems.
Conduct system testing (hardware and software) both in the field and at monitoring locations.
Ensure all newly installed systems and components are operational.
Work with low voltage cables, conduit, and circuits.
Install intrusion, access control security systems, IP cameras, and Audio/Video devices.
Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling, trenching, or aerial runs.
Complete wiring, connections, and equipment installations to ensure system security and functionality.
Pull and terminate wiring cables such as Cat 5E or 6.
Install and trim out security devices.
Install support structures like ladder racks, basket trays, and J-hooks.
Dress and terminate network cables into service loops.
Possess knowledge of 4-pair wiring and T568B standards, with correct color coding.
Test voice and data cables for functionality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver's license for transportation.
Ability to read technical documents, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and programming documentation.
Knowledge of networking, intrusion alarms, access control, cameras, and cabling.
Basic understanding of low voltage cabling (voice & data).
Training in ladder safety, OSHA construction safety, and PPE.
Basic computer skills are preferred.
Ability to work on ladders up to 30 feet and in various environments including office settings, tight spaces, and elevated levels.
Previous experience in low voltage installations is a plus.
Relevant licenses are advantageous.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Trade school, college, or additional certifications are a plus.
Low voltage license is a plus.
SKILLS:
Good oral and written communication skills.
Experience with security camera monitoring or footage review is beneficial.
SCHEDULE:
Day shift, on-call, and weekend availability.
Travel within Texas (50%).
COMPENSATION:
$750 - $1000 per week (5 days, some Saturdays) plus per diem for out-of-town work.
