Location: MENOMONEE FALLS, WI at our MENOMONEE FALLS SURGERY CENTER facility. This job is ON - SITE.
FTE: 0.001000 | Standard Hours: 0.01 | Shift: Shift 1 | Holidays: Weekends
Summary: The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Maintains a sterile field and ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure. Performs related duties to support department cost containment, efficiency, and quality performance.
Responsibilities
Handle instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and maintain the sterile field
Support department efficiency, cost containment, and quality performance
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Surgical Technologist
Competent in the role and able to independently perform surgical technology tasks
Ability to anticipate surgeons' needs; advanced knowledge recognized by staff
Ability to first assist is preferred
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Post-high school education, certification or diploma required
Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, Military Operating Room Specialist course, or Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required
Licensure & Certifications
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent required within 90 days of hire
Certification as a Surgical Technologist is highly preferred
