Marketing & Business Development Manager will lead business development and marketing strategy across the firms California offices. Base pay range $140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Position Overview The Marketing & Business Development Manager will lead business development and marketing strategy across the firms California offices. The role includes team management, strategic project execution, and close collaboration with attorneys and the broader Client Development & Marketing team. Key Responsibilities Lead California BD and marketing initiatives aligned with firmwide strategy Manage and mentor a Specialist and Coordinator, ensuring project execution and quality control Collaborate with attorneys on pitches, RFPs, and client-facing materials Track BD prospects, manage high-priority projects, and drive opportunity pipelines Support both litigation and transactional practices with tailored strategies Develop content for pitches, practice descriptions, submissions, and marketing collateral Coordinate legal awards, directories, and events, including timelines and communications Maintain internal workflow systems and support profile-raising initiatives Travel between California offices as needed; occasional extended hours required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required 6+ years of business development or marketing experience in a law firm Experience supporting both litigation and transactional practice groups Prior staff management and team operations experience Familiarity with legal research tools (Lex Machina, Bloomberg Law, CapitalIQ) Strong writing, communication, and project management skills Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe, InDesign Reliable, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative ADA Requirements Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods Manual dexterity and ability to operate standard office equipment Ability to lift/carry light objects short distances Capable of working in close proximity to others in an office setting Adaptability in a fast-paced, interruption-heavy environment Equal Opportunity Statement The firm is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to protected characteristics.
