Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling). Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards. Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability. Identifies and resolves issues in low voltage systems promptly to minimize downtime. Fixes faults or damages in systems, ensuring they are restored to optimal working condition. Provides technical support. Provides training and support to end users on how to operate and maintain low voltage systems. Addresses customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently. Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations. Follows safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintains accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs. Generates reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities. Evaluates existing systems to determine upgrades or enhancements. Performs system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards. Works closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion. Communicates effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions. Stays abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Leads and participates in teams by coordinating work, providing guidance, and ensuring timelines and work quality are achieved. Develops and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and partners; analyzes information and monitors progress. Demonstrates and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity; promotes Open Door Policy and assists management with addressing issues. High school diploma or equivalent. Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. Experience with local electrical codes and standards. Preferred Qualifications
Training or certification in low voltage systems. BICSI Installer Certification. CompTIA networking certificates (e.g., Network+). Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, Bosch). OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification/training. NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification. Belonging at Walmart
