Manufacturing Controller Trystar is a leader in power distribution equipment and related services at the heart of supporting our electrical infrastructure. We are seeking a Manufacturing Controller who is a highly analytical, detail-oriented financial leader who enjoys working as a member of a cross-functional team to solve problems and improve performance. This position will be a member of the Trystar finance team and will work with other parts of the organization and team members to maximize success for Trystar and our customers. Responsibilities Cost Accounting & Financial Management Develop and maintain accurate product costs, inventories, internal controls, and processes. Assess current costing methods and potential transitions to standard costing methods, where necessary. Drive ERP implementation efforts ensuring data integrity. Partner with FP&A to analyze and explain gross margin performance at a manufacturing site level.
Operational Support & Analysis
Analyze manufacturing site performance in terms of production costs (material, labor, overhead) and associated variances to both budget and standard. Partner with site leadership to use financial information to identify opportunities for improved efficiency. Analyze inventory levels, scrap rates, and material usage to optimize inventory control. Support capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis for equipment and process improvements.
Reporting & Compliance
Develop and prepare metrics to drive improvements in inventory accuracy and labor efficiencies. Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and industry regulations. Assist with internal and external audits related to manufacturing operations. Monitor plant-level compliance with delegation of authority policy/matrix.
Leadership & Collaboration
Act as liaison between operations, supply chain, engineering, and FP&A teams to optimize financial performance and drive business objectives. Recruit, mentor, and develop team of cost accountants/analysts. Drive continuous improvement in financial and accounting processes and reporting.
Job Requirements Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree with concentration in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of experience in manufacturing finance or cost accounting, including 2+ years in a managerial role Experience with leading change, particularly in operations and cost accounting disciplines Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, ERP systems, and cost accounting principles Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and leadership skills Analytical skills and attention to detail
Additional Qualifications
Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement environments Familiarity with inventory management, production planning, and supply chain finance Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive financial accountability Willingness and ability to travel 20%
