Head of School, Population Health UNSW Faculty of Medicine & Health Responsibilities
This senior academic leadership role will have overall responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of the School of Population Health. The role supports the Faculty Dean through the provision of creative leadership in the development and implementation of innovative teaching and learning offerings and research programs within the School and across the faculty, the effective alignment and integration of the Schools teaching and research across the broader faculty and its partners and the effective management of teaching and research quality and impact within the School aligned to the Faculty and UNSW strategic objectives. The role reports to the Faculty Dean, and has all Academic staff and the School Manager as direct reports. Qualifications / Key Skills
A PhD in a relevant discipline area and an outstanding record in research in a relevant discipline as shown by attraction of research funding, publications, markers of esteem and evidence of impactful research translation A record of outstanding achievement, and leadership in a managerial role in a university, health system or professional setting. A distinguished record of academic excellence in contributions to teaching and learning with an outstanding contribution to teaching, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. Highly desirable to have a track record of innovation in education and development of new programs. Successful interaction with relevant key stakeholders in the field, including national and international professional organisations, government Demonstrated capacity for leading conduct of research; delivery of education; and or the health/public health system and evidence of successful management of change and/or evidence of involvement in broader health system management. Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours a week); Professor (Level E) Duration: Head of School appointment, 5 years initially plus Continuing substantive Professor of Population Health Remuneration: Attractive industry salary package (TFR from $322,691 - $348,855), plus relocation and visa sponsorship offered if required.
