Atrium Health Pineville - Ultrasound: Steele Creek | Part time | Benefits Eligible: Yes | Hours Per Week: 24 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Weeknights, Monday and Tuesday, 6:45p-7:15a, holiday rotation, no call at this time. A sign-on bonus is offered for this position to eligible candidates. Pay Range: $34.90 - $52.35 Atrium Health Steele Creek Emergency Department, a facility of Atrium Health Pineville, provides 24-hour emergency medical services to the Steele Creek area. Our staff includes physicians board-certified in emergency medicine and support from Carolinas Medical Center, the region’s only Level I Trauma Center. Job Profile Summary: Prioritizes and coordinates ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians. Performs ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Provides adequate patient care as it relates to the exam requested. Operates ultrasound and associated equipment with proficiency. Major Responsibilities
Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Assists Radiologist in performing invasive procedures. Evaluates technical quality of exam and develops superior varied technique for elevated efficiency in the department. Supports and contributes to the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy by understanding that every staff member is a Caregiver. Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer and/or Engineer. Operates the Radiology computer system to include entering and charging exams and supplies. Maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion; assists in keeping the area stocked. Adheres to departmental rules and regulations while performing in a professional manner. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required
Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (S). Two of the following registries are required: Vascular (RVT), AB (Abdomen), PS (Pediatric). CPR certification required. Education Required
Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program required in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound. Experience Required

Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development and demonstrates the skills appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. Requires moderate to heavy physical effort in lifting and moving patients, equipment and supplies up to 600 pounds with assistance. Work requires walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting during normal operation. Requires mental skills to read and comprehend patient orders and technical materials. Motor coordination needed to operate heavy and delicate equipment. Intact sense of sight and hearing.
