Key responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction and support tailored to students' unique learning needs within the Life Skills program Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEPs that promote student growth and independence Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Provide a safe and inclusive classroom environment fostering social, emotional, and academic development Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and goals Qualifications: Valid Kansas Special Education certification (no provisional or emergency credentials accepted) Experience teaching 5th and 6th grade students preferred Strong understanding of Life Skills curriculum and strategies for fostering student independence Excellent communication and collaboration skills in working with students, families, and staff Location: Middle school setting near Olathe, Kansas Compensation: Hourly pay rate between $28 and $44, commensurate with degree, experience, and interview results This contract role offers an opportunity to focus on a manageable caseload while making a positive difference in the lives of young learners with special needs.
