Top Secret IT Security Position
You will analyze risk or vulnerability assessments to verify an organization's information assurance vulnerability management (IAVM) program is meeting performance standards. You will evaluate the impact of new guidance on current information technology (IT) programs to advise management on effects of changes. You will conduct post implementation studies to determine impacts of information technology (IT) policies, automation, and utilization. You will analyze information technology (IT)/Cybersecurity program effectiveness to determine if improvements or modifications are necessary. You will serve as the primary cybersecurity point of contact and ensure that cybersecurity related events/configuration changes that may impact Information Systems and Platform IT (PIT) systems authorization or security posture are formally reported. You will maintain current and accurate Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessments, authorizations, and documentation throughout each fiscal year and execute regular, schedule and unscheduled assessments. You will provide technical guidance; identify training needs; interview and select candidates for vacancies; recommend promotions; approve leave; recommend awards and resolve disciplinary issues. Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Program Manager, proficiency level Advanced the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Evaluating the effectiveness of IT security tools, procedures, and practices used to protect information systems, services, and capabilities. 2. Identifying security violations to recommend corrective action and resolve potential conflicts. 3. Monitoring systems are in compliance with IT security requirements. 4. Developing and recommending implementation of effective information management programs to respond to the mission and functions of the command.
