JOB SUMMARY: This role performs testing on food products, ingredients, and production lines ensuring prompt communication of any concerns with other departments regarding compliance to Quality Standards. This individual must be self-motivated, have strong leadership skills and work well in a Team setting. Additional skills and tasks required to become higher levels. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Ensure that all products are food safe & quality ready for all customers. 2. Continuously monitors and conducts routine Quality & Food Safety checks for defects and logs results. a. Level I – Proficient in Bakery Line Operation and ability to handle all QA tasks on the required frequencies for 2 or more lines consistently in the Baking Operation b. Level II – Proficient in Bakery and Topping Line Operation with the ability to handle all QA tasks on the required frequencies for 3 or more lines consistently in the Baking Operation. c. Level III - Proficient in Bakery and Topping Line Operation with the ability to handle 5 or more lines* consistently in the Baking Operation or Topping plus select Baking lines as needed. 3. Inspects packaging, labels, date codes, shelf life, and performs tests on incoming ingredients and/or production lines. a. Level I – Physical product testing (weights & measures) b. Level II – In addition to Level I, must be able to conduct product gluten testing, Pre-Op inspections on assigned lines in Bakery or Topping during scheduled shift and complete required allergen testing post sanitation. c. Level III - In addition to Levels I & II, must be able to conduct Pre-Op inspections on a scheduled rotation on weekends for all lines in Bakery and Topping as necessary for the operation including OT hours, and complete allergen testing post sanitation. 4. Conducts daily instrument testing and the tools for up-keep and
standardization/calibration
of equipment (e.g. ruler, calipers, scales, metal detector/x-ray test pieces). 5. Conducts daily GMP inspections. 6. Pulls product retains from lines as needed for Shelf Life and other analysis programs (sensory, Production Validation etc.). 7. 90% Quality floor testing and 10% paperwork in office. 8. QA Levels II or III will be trained to provide shift reports and internal communication in the event a Lead or above is not on shift.
