Summary The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) supports the Project Manager in leading all aspects of contract performance and provides direct oversight of day-to-day operations when delegated. This role requires strong coordination skills, knowledge of federal contracting, and the ability to manage staff and deliverables effectively Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager in overseeing the execution of all contract requirements. Support the management of deliverables, including outreach reports, subcontracting reports, communications, and staffing updates. Oversee staff performance, provide daily task direction, and ensure operational continuity. Monitor program risks, track issues, and assist in developing corrective action plans. Contribute to transition-in and transition-out planning, ensuring smooth handover of responsibilities. Help maintain accurate staffing plans, track vacancies, and support recruitment and onboarding efforts. Support the PM in conducting progress reviews, quality control checks, and compliance with all PWS requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in program/project management, operations, or supervisory roles. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to supervise and mentor staff. Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with government stakeholders. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Ability to step into the Project Manager’s role and exercise full authority when required.
