Account Representative - FT Summary: Seeking a positive individual that enjoys working in a team environment. This role will be within the patient financial service department, also referred to as the business office. The responsibilities will include insurance claim follow-up, denial management, claim and charge posting, daily administrative duties, assist patients with account inquiries, understanding financial assistance processes, and other duties as assigned. Reports to : Revenue Cycle Director Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities
including but not limited to: 1)Insurance claim follow-up. 2) Denial Management 3) Claim and charge posting to patient accounts. 4)Daily administrative tasks (mail, phone, prepare bank deposits, etc.) 5)Understand financial assistance processes 6) Medicare bad debt processing. 7) Demonstrate initiative to improve
efficiency/effectiveness
of business operations. 8) Comply with all hospital policies and procedures as applicable for position including employee handbook, department and administrative policies and procedures, goals and objectives for self, department and performance improvement, safety compliance program, HIPPAA and confidentiality, accreditation and survey standards and infection control. 9) Adapt to changing work assignments and comfortable serving diverse community. 10) Function well under stressful conditions involving other departments, workload, etc. 11) Keep knowledge and skills current via education activities, in-services and other training. 12) Perform related duties as needed including assisting others with their work. Minimum Qualifications:
Positive attitude and willingness to grow. High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in related field preferred. Bachelor degree a plus. Experience:
2 or more years experience in healthcare claims processing preferred. Meditech, Microsoft Office, and office setting experience a plus. Shift:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
