Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Cath Lab Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 18 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of recent peripheral and coronary cath lab experience and required certifications including ARRT, BLS, and Fluoroscopy. Responsibilities Work in a cardiac catheterization lab setting within an acute care environment Unit is equipped with 4 procedure rooms and handles 15-20 cases per day Procedures utilize Siemens/Phillips equipment, with exposure to laser, rotablator, nitric oxide, IVUS, Impella, IABP, FFR, and angiojet Patient population includes critically ill patients and STEMI cases with frequent STEMI interventions each month Day shifts available in 8, 10, or 12 hour lengths, every other weekend required Call required: 1 night per week and 1 weekend every 6 weeks, with day off following call No floating required to other units Cerner EMR experience is required Responsibilities include performing a range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures Team includes a charge nurse during the day and a circulating nurse after hours Pharmacy and respiratory therapy staff are available onsite 24/7; ventilator cases supported by an RT in the room Scrubs are provided for staff Candidates must complete all required onboarding modules prior to arrival; failure to do so will delay start date Agency must provide a radiation badge for the traveler Orientation consists of 1-2 days with 12 hours total, with additional unit-specific training provided as needed This is a STEMI receiving center with high frequency of cardiac emergencies First-time travelers are accepted Returning employees must not have been employed by the hospital system within the past year Local candidate eligibility and pay rates may vary according to location; certain states require permanent residence at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license Requirements Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a cardiac cath lab with both peripheral and coronary circulation cases Active ARRT, BLS, and Fluoroscopy certifications required CRT required, RCIS is not accepted State licensure required if applicable; pending licenses and certifications will not be accepted Experience with Cerner EMR is required Must be comfortable caring for critically ill patients Experience with X-ray equipment in cath lab setting Must provide copy of driver’s license for consideration Two professional references required: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-599062.
