Purchasing Specialist
This role is responsible for maintaining vendor relations and ensuring the procurement of required and approved finished goods and supplies. The position focuses on maintaining inventory, quality, and cost-saving goals while always prioritizing customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring the inclusion of required specifications, prices, terms, conditions, and other relevant details. Coordinate purchase orders with acknowledgments from suppliers to ensure accuracy in material, quantity, pricing, terms, lead time, conditions, and shipping. Identify problems that may cause a delay in meeting deadlines and recommend corrective actions. Notify manager of discrepancies or changes with suppliers. Communicate with internal sales and customer solutions departments on order delivery status updates. Conduct monthly supplier ratings and send score card evaluations to monitor quality, on-time delivery, and service. Maintain ISR program and collaborate with suppliers for improvements as needed. Maintain inventory value and turnover levels according to goals. Assist in the continuous improvement process, including creating, revising, and implementing departmental ISO procedures. Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions for quality, cost, safety, and other team issues. Essential Skills
Minimum 1 year of experience in a purchasing or order entry environment with purchase order experience. Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Exposure to global organizations is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and effective written and oral communication. Ability to identify cost or efficiency savings opportunities. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with Monday to Friday hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, and the option to work from home on Fridays. This is a 4-week contract position based out of Ingleside, Illinois. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
