Job Overview :
A prestigious law firm seeks an experienced Patent Agent with a strong background in electrical engineering and patent prosecution. This role will focus on technologies such as 5G, Wi-Fi, wireless systems, artificial intelligence, memory systems, image processing, and RF front end. The position offers an opportunity to collaborate with attorneys and inventors, contributing to cutting-edge intellectual property work in a dynamic legal environment.
Duties :
Collaborate with inventors, attorneys, and researchers to evaluate technologies and assess patentability.
Draft and file patent applications, responding to USPTO actions and office actions.
Manage client portfolios and provide strategic patent counsel.
Conduct prior art searches and provide analysis to support patent filing strategies.
Engage in patent prosecution for various technologies, including wireless communications, AI, and memory systems.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments in intellectual property law and technology.
Requirements :
Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
Registered with the USPTO or qualified to register.
Strong technical background in electrical engineering or equivalent field.
Proficiency in 5G, Wi-Fi, wireless tech, AI, and RF front-end technologies.
Experience with patent prosecution in relevant fields like image processing, memory systems, and wireless communications.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Education :
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent).
Certifications :
USPTO registration or eligibility to become registered.
Skills :
Strong drafting and patent application skills.
Ability to manage client relationships and provide portfolio strategy.
Knowledge of patent law, especially in the technology and telecommunications sectors.
Familiarity with prior art search tools and patent databases.
