Responsibilities
This position involves operating a truck equipped with water/tack and maintaining proper levels on all assigned equipment. The driver must conduct all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the assigned vehicle to ensure safety and identify any damages or tampering. Report issues immediately to the shop.
- Drive tanker/tack trucks to designated destinations, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads.
- Collaborate with paving crews.
- Maintain a truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
- Report traffic or site condition problems promptly and obtain information about the job site and route conditions.
- Adhere to truck maintenance, cleanliness, and repair guidelines as outlined in the Truck Driver's Handbook.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Note: Ability to work nights is required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-2 years of CDL driving experience with a GVW of 33,000 pounds or more.
- Tank endorsement required.
- Meet all DOT physical requirements.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License required.
- Hazmat experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skilled in loading and unloading fuel and oil from trucks at terminals.
