Job Responsibilities

1. Provide direct clinical consultation, crisis intervention, and counseling services that are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, flexible, and attuned to the needs and circumstances of the individual resident and their family.
2. Effectively engage families and provide services including parent coaching, family counseling, and parent support groups. Participate in all family conferences. Collaborate with residential and medical staff to create and maintain open partnerships with families to support communication and visiting.
3. Work with team members to offer families ongoing support to learn about trauma-informed care, provide psychoeducation, counseling, and coaching to enhance caregivers' coping strategies and self-care, thereby increasing their capacity to respond and support the child in a trauma-responsive manner.
4. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team conferences to formulate and implement treatment plans, including Treatment Planning Conferences, Permanency Review meetings, Team Meetings, CSE Meetings, and other assigned meetings.
5. Maintain up-to-date case records and all required documentation, including progress notes, casework reports, and electronic health records, submitting all reports promptly.
6. Conduct psychosocial assessment reports, develop family safety plans, and facilitate and monitor family visiting.
7. Provide casework services as assigned, such as court reviews, SPRs, court reports, FASPS, home visits, and act as a system liaison.
8. Prepare for and attend supervisory sessions, department meetings, and required training.
9. Coordinate, facilitate, and support family visiting, family activities, counseling, and multi-family groups to promote family connections and relationships. Facilitate safety plans, visiting contracts, and counseling.
10. Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and program staff, working cooperatively to ensure service provision.
11. Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• MSW Degree in Social Work; LMSW preferred.
• Related experience with adolescents and/or families is preferred.
• Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, fingerprinting, and valid NY State driver’s license required.
• Compliance with health regulations for physical and Mantoux testing.
• Experience with electronic healthcare systems.

Working Conditions

• Maintain status as an authorized agency driver.
• Meet continuing education requirements for licensing and compliance.
