CONTROLLER Come alongside ownership and share your knowledge and experiences! Our client, an established property management, development, investment and family office in Chicago, seeks an experienced Controller, responsible for all aspects of finance, accounting and treasury. How You'll Contribute Prepare and oversee all aspects of monthly and annual financial statements. Operate the treasury function including managing bank loans including monthly, quarterly and annual compliance Help guide the business as it relates to all financial decisions Work with company executives and ownership! Ensure the business is protecting assets by establishing strong internal controls and enforcing such controls Seek to maximize returns and control risk through careful management of assets and liabilities and operations Manage investments for multiple projects Develop a budget and evaluate monthly results against the budget and investigate any variances Manage transactions prepared by staff and supervising staff Interact positively with affiliate companies including outside auditors Review and approve payroll every pay period Manage quarterly distributions
Who You Are Bachelor of Science degree in accounting; CPA certification a plus 7 plus years of accounting work experience with 5 years of experience in the real estate industry required Strong work ethic with attention to detail; excellent communication, proven analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office; QuickBooks Desktop, AppFolio or other related software such as Yardi Ability to travel to job sites within the Chicago area. The salary range estimate below is inclusive of all departments within the company and offered salaries may vary within the given range between departments. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this level is $150k-170k annualized plus additional compensation and other competitive benefits.
