This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville, Alabama. The Network Administrator II will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing AMC's diverse network environments including classified, unclassified, and DREN networks. This on-site role will focus on providing comprehensive network administration support across multiple network environments for the Army Materiel Command (AMC). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing classified and unclassified networks, with strong knowledge of Army network security requirements and unified communications systems. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including switches, routers, cabling, and fiber optics Administer network systems supporting ITSM, Unified Communications, and mission-critical IT systems Design and implement network solutions to meet evolving organizational requirements Develop and maintain accurate network documentation including detailed schematics and diagrams Ensure seamless interoperability between various networks (NIPR, SIPR, DREN) Maintain Information Assurance (IA) accreditation documentation for network systems Implement and enforce security measures in accordance with Army IA regulations Perform regular network upgrades, patches, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance Support users across diverse network environments, addressing connectivity and access issues Develop and document IT processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Implement and manage network load balancing solutions for optimal performance Monitor network performance and implement improvements as needed Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network-related projects and initiatives Maintain awareness of emerging network technologies and security threats Respond to and resolve network incidents according to established priorities Provide technical guidance to junior team members as needed Education and Experience: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in network administration, preferably in a military or government environment Experience supporting classified and unclassified networks Demonstrated experience with network infrastructure management and troubleshooting Required Skills and Competencies: Current CompTIA Network+ or CCNA certification (or higher-level network certification) Knowledge of ITIL V4 framework and processes Understanding of Army Information Assurance regulations and compliance requirements Experience with AMC Unified Communications, IT, and ITSM procedures Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure (switches, routers, cabling) Experience with network design and implementation Knowledge of network security principles and practices Experience creating and maintaining network documentation and schematics Familiarity with NIPR, SIPR, and DREN network environments Understanding of load balancing concepts and implementation Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience developing IT processes and standard operating procedures Current security clearance or ability to obtain required clearances Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama Desired Skills and Competencies: CCNP or higher Cisco certifications CompTIA Security+ certification Experience with Department of Defense networks and systems Knowledge of unified communications systems and implementation Experience with fiber optic infrastructure and maintenance Familiarity with Army network architecture and standards Experience supporting ITSM tools and processes Background in implementing network automation solutions Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) Knowledge of virtualized network environments Experience with network monitoring tools and systems Understanding of IPv6 implementation and transition strategies Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts Familiarity with VoIP technologies and implementation Experience mentoring junior network administrators Our Equal Employment Opportunity Policy The company is an equal opportunity employer.
