Responsibilities: Provide accurate and clear interpretation of spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to ensure accessibility for students requiring sign language services Assist in creating an inclusive learning environment by promoting communication access Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics in all interactions Adapt interpreting techniques to suit various educational settings and student needs Qualifications and Desired Experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills Experience working in K-12 educational settings preferred Knowledge of educational terminology and classroom procedures Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support personnel Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment Location: Aurora, Illinois This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and communication throughout the school year.
