A contract position is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support high school students in the Hampshire, IL area and surrounding communities, including Belvidere. This in-person role runs from August 4, 2025, through June 6, 2026, with a weekly schedule aligned to the school calendar, averaging 32.5 to 35 hours.

Key Responsibilities: Provide clear and effective sign language interpretation to facilitate communication between students, staff, and instructors. Ensure that students with hearing impairments have equal access to educational content and social interactions. Collaborate closely with educators, counselors, and families to support student success. Maintain confidentiality and follow all school policies and ethical guidelines. Qualifications: Must hold ISBE approval as a Sign Language Interpreter or have an EIPA score of 3.0 or higher to qualify for temporary approval. Proven experience interpreting in educational settings is preferred. Excellent knowledge of American Sign Language and deaf culture. Ability to work in-person within the Hampshire High School and surrounding areas. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Location:This role is based at Hampshire High School with service provided to nearby areas including Belvidere, IL.
