Overview
Receptionist role at Covenant Living Communities and Services. This position greets residents, staff, and visitors in person or on the telephone, in a manner that promotes Covenant Living in a positive, professional way.
In This Role
- Answer all telephone calls as quickly as possible in a polite, personal, and friendly manner. Transfer calls appropriately. Take messages when the resident or staff member is not available.
- Monitor emergency system, direct staff to emergent situations, call emergency personnel as appropriate, and complete resident checks as required by the desk policy.
- Provide information to all visitors and direct them to the appropriate individual who can assist, ensuring that all visitors/contractors sign in and wear badges according to policy.
- Keep the reception desk and lobby clean and organized after each shift.
- Facilitate transportation requests, coordinate and communicate timing to residents and staff, and place courtesy calls to remind residents of transportation trips.
- Assist residents in signing up for programs and activities and collect payment where applicable.
- Be knowledgeable about all office equipment and demonstrate its use to other staff; monitor equipment and report supply needs and issues to the Office Manager.
- Sell postage stamps, receive packages and mail, sort mail, log packages, and inform residents/staff when packages are ready for pickup.
- Facilitate maintenance requests, input requests into the system, and communicate urgent or emergent situations to appropriate staff.
- Complete monthly charge sheets in accordance with procedure.
- Support other departments in clerical duties as assigned by the Office Manager.
- Support the reception team in clerical duties and maintenance of the reception area.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- High school education or equivalent.
- Two years of customer service or clerical experience.
- Highly organized, detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written in English.
- Pleasant personality and telephone voice.
- Ability to remain calm in an emergency situation.
- Complete confidentiality when circulating general information.
- Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Interest in and desire to work with older adults.
Compensation
$18.07 - $21.71 per hour
