Overview

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting employees and managers by delivering efficient HR services and ensuring compliance with employment laws. This position partners closely with the HR Director and business leaders to maintain effective HR operations, enhance the employee experience, and strengthen HR programs and initiatives.

Base pay range: $60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

  • Respond to employee questions and requests, providing excellent customer service.
  • Manage employee offboarding, including separation letters, exit surveys, and reporting of trends.
  • Support the Onboarding Specialist with hiring and rehiring; provide coverage during PTO.
  • Maintain and audit employee data in the HRIS; update employment status and ensure accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Development Specialist to administer the performance management process, including system setup, self-evaluations, and manager support.
  • Track metrics and feedback from 30/60/90-day reviews, mid-year check-ins, and exit surveys.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure compliance with licensing and registration requirements in each jurisdiction.
  • Support the HR Director in ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Development Specialist to create training programs, tools, and resources for employees and managers.
  • Research and recommend new HR programs or improvements to existing processes.
  • Contribute to special HR projects, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of HR functions, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Self-starter with a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR-related software platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, managers, and HR team members.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources required.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred.
