Overview
Part-time Human Resources Assistant at Lincoln Land Community College. This role supports HR front-line operations and HR staff, with a focus on detail, organization, and a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide telephone and public reception in a courteous and professional manner; guide employees and visitors to appropriate personnel.
- Provide general clerical support including document creation, filing, scanning, copying, faxing, processing incoming and outgoing mail; monitor the HR email account and respond or forward to appropriate HR staff; assist applicants; upload application documents.
- Support HR staff and Employment Specialists; assist with office tasks and projects.
- Prepare bills for payment (including newspaper ads, Visa, insurance, and third-party administration fees); manage blanket purchase orders and requisitions; process funds received for deposit; monitor budget lines and alert of shortfalls.
- Process usage of employee benefit leave time and overtime/compensation time.
- Create and disseminate HR forms, correspondence, and notifications to campus departments related to new hires, changes, and terminations.
- Assist in entering and tracking data into HR databases, spreadsheets, and websites (pre-employment, address changes, contract tracking, etc.).
- Provide administrative support to HR committees/teams and assist HR staff with special projects.
- Maintain employee anniversary and birthday data and process monthly announcements.
- Maintain and order office supplies and equipment; perform other duties as assigned and cross-train as directed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- One year of related work experience.
- Skills: problem-solving, high attention to detail, and the ability to work professionally under pressure; proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word and Excel); excellent customer service and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects with deadlines; ability to maintain confidentiality and information security; ability to follow guidelines and procedures; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications
- Administrative support experience is viewed favorably.
Employment Details
- Part-time, 25 hours per week; pay rate $18.52 per hour; non-benefited.
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Remote work availability: No.
- Open date: 09/09/2025. Open until filled; initial review window if applicable after 09/24.
