Reynolds Community College is seeking a part-time Human Resources Assistant to provide direct administrative and clerical support to the Office of Human Resources. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and completing a wide range of assignments related to HR functions, managing special projects, and overseeing daily office operations. The HR Assistant serves as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring efficient and professional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary administrative support for the HR office, including answering the main HR phone line, routing calls, and assisting visitors.
- Ensure the HR office is open and welcoming to employees and visitors during core business hours.
- Manage daily mail operations, including pickup, sorting, and distribution.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries in the main HR inbox, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Initiate and track purchase orders and travel expenses using eVA and Chrome River.
- Maintain HR SharePoint sites and intranet pages.
- Perform office supply inventory and ordering in compliance with state purchasing guidelines.
- Reconcile expenses and maintain records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Organize and maintain the HR office supply closet.
- Order name tags and desk plates for new employees, as needed.
- Manage employee personnel files, including retention, storage, and disposal processes.
- Prepare and distribute the monthly HR communications with input from the HR team.
- Respond to employment verification requests and maintain proper documentation in accordance with local, state and federal law.
- Maintain and organize confidential office files and contribute to the office procedure manual.
- Provide administrative support for meetings, including preparing materials for the HR Director or Associate Vice President.
- Assist with hiring activities such as scheduling, travel arrangements, and reference checks.
- Support HR and college-sponsored events, including commencement, benefits fairs, employee engagement initiatives, and learning and development initiatives.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
Additional Considerations
- Training in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- Experience with Microsoft 365 office products
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing competing priorities and consistently meeting deadlines. (Please ensure your resume includes specific examples that illustrate this experience.)
