Overview
My Dentist Lawton, a Heartland Dental Supported Practice and a "Patient-Focused Doctor Office," is looking for a Full-Time Experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. This is a Full-Time position with no nights or weekends, a comprehensive benefits package, quarterly bonus potential, and Academy Training & CE Classes included. Expected full-time hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-5:00pm and Friday 9:00am-3:00pm (hours subject to change).
As a Dental Assistant, you’ll work with state-of-the-art technology in a collaborative, supportive environment where patients come first and continuous learning is encouraged. The successful candidate will bring a passion for providing the best patient care to the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and support patient comfort and education throughout treatment.
- Review patient health history to inform quality care.
- Take and process X-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
- Provide superior chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with state dental practice act.
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
- Prepare treatment rooms with adherence to safety protocols, following OSHA & CDC recommendations.
- Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed.
- Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Oklahoma Dental Assistant Permit
- Oklahoma X-Ray Certification
- Ability to protect PHI and complete regular HIPAA training; maintain data safeguards
- Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Experience in a fast-paced, patient-centric environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- Adaptability to a changing work environment; team player; attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines; sense of urgency
- Microsoft Office Suite experience
Preferred Experience
- Dentrix or other dental software experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds
- Availability to attend virtual or in-person training sessions periodically
- TB test is required for all new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN)
