We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
to join our educational team in
El Monte, CA . This full-time, in-person role involves working with
elementary-aged students
to support speech and language development as part of a collaborative and student-focused environment. As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to help implement individualized treatment plans, provide direct therapy services, and support student progress across various school settings. Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students as directed by the supervising SLP.
Assist with implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Document student progress and maintain accurate therapy records.
Prepare therapy materials and assist with clerical duties related to speech services.
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student communication needs.
Support classroom integration and assist in generalizing communication goals into the school environment.
Follow all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines, including FERPA and IDEA.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in the state of California.
Education:
Associates degree in SLPA program or Bachelors degree in Communication Disorders or a related field with SLPA license.
Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish (not required but a plus).
Familiarity with IEPs and school-based documentation systems.
Previous experience with elementary-aged students in a school setting.
