SALARY The minimum salary is
$24.505 per hour This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable. Pay Grade 518
This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay
($90/month, $0.52c/hour)
and CDL pay
($1.08/hour)
upon hire.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION The purpose of this classification is to supervise and lead a work crew in sewer line installation, maintenance and repair.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent supplemented by, specialized courses/training that correlates to satisfactory completion of one (1) year of college education
Four (4) years of experience installing, maintaining and repairing sewer lines and/or closely related utility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervises daily operations of assigned work crew
Investigates and diagnoses sanitary and storm sewer issues
Operates various pieces of equipment used in the maintenance and repair of sewer lines
Uses various programs such as Accela, Arch Reader, Granite, PeopleSoft, etc.
Uses tools such as shovels, wrenches, clamps, hammers, rigid machines, and pumps
Provides guidance and training to apprentices
Communicates with property owners
Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Valid Driver's License
Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate. Must obtain Endorsement N Tank Vehicles within the first six (6) months of employment
CDL holders are subject to FMCSA query prior to qualification

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be accessible to on-call duty, be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies
Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner.
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
EXAMINATION The applicant's training and experience will be evaluated based on the information provided by the filing deadline date on this job posting.
