SALARY

The minimum salary is

$25.730 per hour This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable. Pay Grade 519

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to support Senior Planners and Management in the research, review, and coordination of urban planning and development plans. This position is in the planning services section which focuses on the implementation of the comprehensive plan, coordination of development activities, issuing zoning compliance permits, and staff support for the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in urban planning, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, environmental science, public administration, or another related field No experience required Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Researches, analyzes, and evaluates data to aid in the coordination of activities and decision-making processes for assigned section within the Division Reviews property plats, development and site plans, and new application packages for accuracy and compliance with statutes, regulations, standards, and procedures as assigned Researches and prepares comprehensive staff reports, text amendments, visualization tools, and presentations Coordinates, attends, and represents the Division and/or LFUCG at internal and external meetings and events Conducts zoning and historical property use research; assesses and manages complex zoning situations Assists internal and external customers with questions or concerns, guidance, information requests, and general technical assistance Performs data entry, record maintenance, file creation, and other administrative duties as needed Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

AICP Certification is preferred SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

In accordance with CAO Policy 23R "Acquisition of Real Property From Property Owners under Certain Notices and/or Orders", no employee who works in a Division with regulatory or civil enforcement authority over real property located in Fayette County shall acquire an interest in real property in Fayette County with any outstanding citation, notice or order from the Division in which he or she works regardless of whether the citation, notice, or order was issued by the employee or someone else in the Division. This policy extends to immediate family members and the Commissioner of the Department in which the identified employee is employed. Employees may be required to disclose all real property owned by the employee as well as his/her immediate family members. Property and business ownership exemptions may apply.
