Accountant Position

We are looking for an experienced accountant to join our team in Grants, New Mexico. This is a long-term contract position requiring on-site work to support financial operations at a community hospital. The role is essential for ensuring timely financial reporting, assisting with audits, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
• Assist with month-end close processes and generate financial reports.
• Provide support to external auditors during financial audits.
• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and interim leadership for approvals and guidance.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Maintain and update the general ledger with precision and accuracy.
• Offer general support to the finance team to meet organizational goals.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Adapt to a small-team environment with cross-functional responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Strong proficiency in general accounting principles and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger tasks.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with MultiView General Ledger is a plus.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is preferred.
