Accountant Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This is a long-term contract position that offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial processes, including payroll and general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting and a strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. Responsibilities include handling accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency, preparing and posting journal entries to maintain a balanced general ledger, performing monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial records align with bank statements, assisting with payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payment to employees, supporting month-end closing activities, including financial reporting and analysis, generating accurate financial reports and statements for management review, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies, collaborating with other departments to address discrepancies and resolve accounting issues, providing assistance during audits and ensuring proper documentation is available, and continuously identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows.

Requirements include proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions, proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting bank reconciliations, solid understanding of payroll processing and related accounting principles, familiarity with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively, excellent communication and organizational skills, and knowledge of accounting software and tools is preferred.
