Base pay range: $20.00/hr - $24.00/hr Employer: Durham School Services (National Express LTD). Hiring immediately; no experience necessary; training provided. Starting pay rate: $20.00$24.00 per hour. Walk-in interviews: MondayThursday 9:00 am1:00 pm. Location: 1011 N. Jefferson St., Kearney, MO 64060. The Driver in Training will be trained to obtain a CDL and related endorsements, learn company policies, and, upon successful training completion, place into a Professional Driver role. We invest heavily in training and development. Responsibilities
Provide safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or other vehicle on a fixed or changing route. Maintain high ethical standards and integrity; report suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisor or manager. Report for duty on time and maintain timely routes in a safe manner. Physically assist passengers in evacuation in an emergency. Immediately report any accident or incident per Company policy. Follow Company policy on student and/or passenger management; inform appropriate personnel of problems or procedures. Maintain neat and professional appearance at all times. Complete and submit all required paperwork (route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) promptly. Maintain cooperative relations with colleagues, supervisors, customers, and passengers; promote company goodwill. Operate vehicle equipment safely, including wheelchair lifts, radios, and emergency equipment. Other duties as assigned; additional responsibilities may apply per location for Paratransit drivers. Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age; in Tennessee, at least 25 years old per state law. Must possess or obtain valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to operate company vehicles. Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; safety-sensitive employee subject to random screenings. Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training. Must practice defensive driving at all times and maintain safe driving and work habits. Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and contract-specific driver requirements.
