Staff Accountant | Kansas City, MO
LHH is partnering with a client that is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal reports
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Details
- Job Title: Staff Accountant
- Location: Kansas City, MO
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
- Compensation: $60-75,000 annually
- Job Type: Contract to Hire

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
