Description The Data Acquisition Engineer will be responsible for setting up and conducting data acquisition using various data acquisition systems. This involves coordinating test specimen build, setting up data acquisition systems, data processing, and communicating with stakeholders. The candidate should have a detailed understanding of data acquisition systems, transducers such as wheel force transducers, accelerometers, load cells, strain gages, and CAN communication. Ability to operate and conduct data acquisition on company grounds is required.

The successful candidate will be process-oriented, detail-focused, and capable of leading projects from start to finish with minimal guidance. Good communication and leadership skills are essential for coordinating and instructing team members in vehicle instrumentation, strain gauging, and part changes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university.

2-5 years of engineering experience in a testing environment within the automotive industry.

Experience with data acquisition equipment and transducers including load cells, accelerometers, strain gauges, etc.

Understanding of damage severity analysis and stress-life/load-life calculations.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and VBA.

Strong time management, leadership, planning, and follow-up skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Availability for working days, overtime, and occasional weekends.

Experience working in a unionized environment.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, ability to drive company vehicle.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 10-20%.

Candidates with related co-op experience or new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Requirements

Master’s degree in relevant engineering fields.

Experience with CANBUS, NCode, MTS RPC Pro, FlexTest.

Knowledge of strain gauge theory and application.

Additional Information / Must Have's

Suspension and driveline knowledge.

Experience with load, acceleration, and displacement transducers.
