The Inspector B (Elec) is responsible for performing inspections and/or audits of purchased parts, materials, equipment and quality control programs. Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units or systems for in-process or final assemblies. Performs sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials. Ensures raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company standards. Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection. Duties/Responsibilities: Perform inspections on a variety of materials, components, assemblies, and/or systems. Document work results and generates inspection reports. Types of inspections include visual, workmanship, dimensional, and electrical. Complies with safety and security rules and observes good housekeeping practices. Accomplishes assignments with minimum direct supervision. Typical equipment used includes: For Mechanical Inspection: Microscopes, micrometers, gage blocks, pin gauges, comparators, surface plates, height gages, rotary tables, coordinate measuring machines, and roundness and surface analysis equipment. For Electrical Inspection: Oscilloscopes, Capacitance/impedance bridges, power supplies, and microscopes. Skills: Able to use and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and work to inspection procedures. Able to follow and execute to verbal and written instructions. Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel. Education: High school diploma or its equivalent, plus two years of technical schooling related to engineering, science and/or mathematics. The two years schooling may be satisfied through one of the following: An Associates degree in an engineering or science program OR Five college credit technical courses in the area of engineering, science, and/or mathematics. One college level writing class can be counted toward the five courses. Quality Inspector Certification (CQI) from the American Society of Quality (ASQ). Experience: For employee who satisfy the Education requirement, a minimum of 4 years experience is required in a quality assurance organization performing tasks related to the inspection of either mechanical or electrical commodities. For employee who do not satisfy the Education requirements, a minimum of four years of experience is required in a quality assurance organization performing tasks related to the inspection of either mechanical or electronic components. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement's approved rates by location and role.
