Force Development Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA)

The Force Development Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA) applies advanced data science, statistical modeling, and operations research techniques to enhance Army G-8 force development, acquisition, and modernization initiatives. This role designs and employs predictive models, performs readiness and resourcing analyses, and utilizes tools such as SAS, Python, R, Tableau, and Power BI to generate actionable insights. Collaborating with Army leaders and cross-functional teams, the analyst develops decision-ready products, validates requirements, and ensures modernization strategies remain aligned with Army priorities-driving effective resource allocation and strengthening operational readiness. Essential Job Function Requirements and Acquisition Oversight Data Analysis and Business Intelligence Program and Resource Management Force Development and Modernization Advanced Analytics and Operational Research Leadership Support and Coordination Communication and Reporting Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in operations research, applied mathematics statistics, engineering (Systems or Industrial), or computer science A minimum of three (3) years ORSA experience; Secret Clearance required Ability to apply proficiency in SAS and Python with expertise in R, along with proficiency to advance data visualization skills using tools like Power BI, Tableau, PowerApps to accomplish mission tasks; Ability to apply analytic techniques such as statistical analysis, forecasting and measurement to effect analyses (e.g., ANOVA, Multiple Regression), cost analysis, flow modeling, forecast modeling, linear programming, simulations and queuing theory, and business reengineering/IDEF modeling, and be proficient in writing /editing R code as well as in Tableau and PowerBI. Interdisciplinary skill set of PPBE, DOD acquisition processes and procedures (DoDI 5000.2) as well as expertise with materiel and /or force structure requirements development and validation (JCIDS).
