Overview Managing Director, Sustainable Mobility Center at Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, Stanford, California. This is a high-impact leadership role reporting to the Precourt Institute Director, leading development, management, and execution of the Stanford Sustainable Mobility Center (SMC).

Lead the development, management, and execution of programs and projects that leverage Stanford faculty and student expertise to address global mobility challenges. Translate Stanford activities into real-world impact for the global mobility ecosystem. Provide strategic planning and analysis for complex university functions or programs with business, regulatory, or technical challenges; manage development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of programs; monitor trends and recommend direction. Act as subject matter expert on policies and regulations; resolve cross-boundary issues; represent the program at the university level and to external constituencies. Direct and manage outreach strategy, including relationship development, communications, and compliance. Supervise staff in the development and implementation of functions or programs. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated leadership, planning, organizational, and analytical skills; ability to influence across organizational boundaries. Strong business judgment, problem-solving, and financial/resource management abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; ability to build partnerships. Subject matter expertise relevant to mobility, energy, infrastructure, policy, or related areas. Strong project planning and management skills; experience with business process improvement methodologies. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to safety and compliance with university policies. Preferred Qualifications
PhD degree. Significant and diverse experience in the mobility sector (ideally including ITS, infrastructure, environmental impacts, regulation, economics, policy) with >5 years in these areas. Significant data science/advanced computational modeling/machine learning/big data analytics experience with >5 years; familiarity with data privacy and stewardship. Strong organizational and management experience leading multi-disciplinary teams; excellent communication skills. Compensation and Benefits The base pay range is $181,914.00 to $231,158.00 per year. Stanford provides pay ranges as a good faith estimate and the final offer is based on scope and responsibilities, qualifications, budget, internal equity, location, and external market. Base pay is one element of the broader rewards package; details available during the hiring process. The position is on Stanford’s main campus with potential for hybrid work arrangement, subject to operational needs.
