Accountant Position
Beacon Hill was founded to set a new standard in search, career placement and flexible staffing. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join our finance team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role involves working closely with finance leadership and cross-functional departments to support budgeting, reporting, and audit processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial transactions.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and adjustments.
- Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP (or IFRS, if applicable).
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Maintain organized records and support process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or pursuing CPA a plus).
- 2+ years of accounting experience (public or corporate accounting preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with financial reporting tools.
- Exposure to ERP system implementations or process improvements.
- Knowledge of tax compliance and payroll processes a plus.
