About The Position
Wellhart is seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician for a locum tenens position at multiple urgent care facilities in Texas. This 120-day assignment begins on 09/01/2025, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will work varying shifts Monday through Sunday, covering hours from 8 AM to 8 PM depending on the location. The physician should be comfortable floating between nearby clinics in the Austin market. Key responsibilities include providing urgent care services, performing minor procedures, interpreting X-rays and EKGs, and managing workers' compensation cases. The successful candidate must have significant workers' compensation experience in the Austin market and be DOT certified. This role requires a versatile physician capable of handling a wide range of urgent care needs and adapting to different clinic environments.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide comprehensive urgent care services at multiple locations in the Austin area
- Perform minor procedures including laceration repair and incision and drainage
- Interpret X-rays and EKGs
- Manage workers' compensation cases with extensive experience required
- Conduct DOT examinations
- Float between nearby clinics as needed
- Utilize Practice Velocity electronic health record system
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
- Adapt quickly to different clinic protocols and procedures
- Ensure patient safety and high-quality care at all times
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
Additional Information:
- Must be licensed to practice in Texas
- DOT certification required
- Significant workers' compensation experience in the Austin market essential
- Proficiency in Practice Velocity EHR system preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
