About The Position

Wellhart is seeking an experienced Pain Management Physician Assistant for a 72-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. Starting on 11/10/2025, this position involves working 8-hour shifts (7am - 3pm) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for a total of 3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with pain medicine interventions, including injections and neuromodulation, as well as medical management. Responsibilities include managing follow-up appointments, medication management, and developing treatment plans for both chronic and acute pain patients. This role offers the opportunity to work independently while receiving ongoing training and support from on-site physicians in the latest pain management techniques.

Schedule: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, 7am - 3pm


Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform pain medicine interventions, including injections and neuromodulation

• Manage follow-up appointments and medication regimens

• Develop and implement treatment plans for chronic and acute pain patients

• Collaborate with on-site physicians for ongoing training and support

• Utilize the latest methods for diagnosing and treating pain

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using Epic EHR system

• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout treatment

• Work independently while maintaining open communication with the healthcare team


Additional Information:

• Must hold an active North Carolina Physician Assistant license

• Experience with Epic EHR preferred

• Opportunity for assignment extension may be available

• Potential for full-time position (6 months) after initial assignment
