Throughout the design process—from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes—you’ll envision how people will experience our products, and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined, and even magical. Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. We collaborate closely with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for users and Google’s businesses. As an Interaction Designer, you’ll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution. You’ll collaborate with your design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

Responsibilities

Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high-fidelity prototypes.

Advocate for the prioritization of design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements.

Partner closely with cross-functional teams from early-stage product direction, concepting, and prototyping, through learning user needs, iterating, and launching.

Own the user experience, including exploring user needs, defining wireframes, and crafting high-fidelity mockups and prototypes that effectively communicate key ideas, user journeys, and decision points.

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent practical experience.

6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

Experience designing user-facing products in the emerging technology space, including experimenting with AI technologies.

Experience with visual design in product or UX design environments.

Preferred qualifications

Master\'s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.

2 years of experience leading design projects.

Experience in the advanced use of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar design tools.

Experience with code hosting platforms.

Experience with functional prototyping skills, coding and the ability to craft high-fidelity mockups and test functional ideas.

Compensation and benefits The US base salary range for this full-time position is $151,000-$222,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
