Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled
Controls/Automation Engineer
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robotics, as well as a strong foundation in lean manufacturing practices such as 5S. This role involves designing, programming, testing, and commissioning automation systems, while ensuring smooth start-up and acceptance testing at both factory and site levels.
Key Responsibilities: Design, program, and troubleshoot
PLC systems
(Rockwell, Siemens). Develop and integrate
HMI applications
(Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware, LabVIEW). Program, operate, and maintain
industrial robots
(ABB, Fanuc, Kuka). Create and maintain
flowcharts, process diagrams, and documentation
using Microsoft Visio. Participate in and lead
system start-ups , including
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
and
Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) . Apply
5S and lean principles
to ensure efficient, safe, and organized work environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful automation projects on time and within budget. Prepare and deliver
presentations
for internal teams, management, and clients.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in
Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics , or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 3–7 years of experience in
industrial automation, controls, or robotics engineering . Strong understanding of
PLC/HMI programming
and
robot integration . Experience with
FAT, SAT, and system commissioning . Familiarity with
lean manufacturing principles
(5S, Kaizen). Excellent communication and
presentation skills . Ability to travel to customer sites for testing and commissioning as required.
Preferred Skills Experience with
SCADA systems
and network integration. Knowledge of
safety standards
(e.g., ISO, OSHA, CE). Project management experience in automation environments.
