seeking an experienced Controls Project Engineer to join our expanding business. Industry knowledge in control hardware selection, industrial control panel design, industrial control software applications, and streamlining procedures and processes within the industrial automation solutions industry. Experience working with OEM partners and customers in a wide range of industrial automation industries and applications to develop best in class industrial control systems. Responsibilities: - Interpret quotations, plans and specification documents for project design and execution - Actively communicate with customers, including project scope, design feedback, and technical clarifications - Set milestone goals and work with the engineering team to balance project needs to meet the schedule - Effectively deliver feedback and updates to a wide range of individuals and departments - Coordinate with Operations to ensure effective transfer of projects from Engineering to Manufacturing - Participate in design reviews for accuracy and compliance with customer requirements - Demonstrate a solid understanding of UL 508A and 698A standards - Develop circuit diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical - Select hardware and create BOM (bill of materials) - Assist purchasing to ensure engineering designs are efficient and within budget - Modify and write PLC programs specific to the application - Develop HMI applications in conjunction with PLC programs - Perform factory system testing and simulations prior to shipment - Travel to customer’s sites for inspection and system commissioning Travel: Less than 20% annually, domestically. Occasional international travel. Qualifications: 5+ years’ experience related to controls working for an industrial controls manufacturer, OEM, or systems integrator. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical and PLC / HMI programming principles. The ability to program Rockwell Automation and Siemens Controllers, Operator Interfaces, and SCADA systems is preferred. Experience with Variable Frequency Drive Systems (Rockwell and/or Danfoss preferred) and motor control applications are a must. Demonstrate strong communication skills with employees, customers, and management. Education: BSEE, BSME, BSCE 4-Year Degree or equivalent experience
