About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located at McAlester, OK. The position communicates instructions to other workers as directed by the supervisor, utilizing knowledge of electrical systems and practices. Responsibilities Assign the immediate tasks to be performed by individual subordinates. Ensure that plans, blueprints, material and tools are available for jobs. Check work in progress for compliance with the standard operating procedures. Answer questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives. Provide information to the supervisor on causes of delays, overall work operations and problems. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electrician Leader without more than normal supervision. Pass on directions to several employees in accomplishing trades and labor work associated with Electrician work. Perform proper electrician methods, procedures, or techniques. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Lead or Supervise Ability to Use Electrical Drawings Ability to Use Hand and Power Tools (Electronics) Knowledge of Electrical Equipment Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) Physical Effort: Work requires the incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in uncomfortable positions. The incumbent frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, equipment, and parts that weigh up to 20 pounds occasionally. Working Conditions: Works inside buildings, shops, and outside. Subject to contact with dirt, dust, and grease; shocks and burns from high voltage; cuts and bruises. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Installation Management (29) Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Relocation (Government Home Sale) Expenses are not authorized. This position may require overtime work. This position may require you to wear Personal Protective Equipment and/or clothing. Position may be filled as Term Appointment NTE 1 Year 1 Day. Term Appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
