Sr. Director, Indirect Sourcing About the Opportunity This Fortune 500 organization is undergoing a major transformation in procurement, shifting from a transactional, reactive function to a forward-looking, strategic partner within the business. With strong sponsorship from executive leadership, the procurement function is being rebuilt to focus on category strategy, measurable value delivery, and strengthening supplier relationships. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help shape a world-class procurement organization and play a key role in redefining how the company partners with its suppliers. Role Overview The
Sr. Manager of Professional Services Procurement
will lead the Professional Services category and manage a small team (4–5 people across Senior, Expert, and Principal levels). This leader will own the end-to-end category strategy for professional services and consulting spend, including partnerships with major consulting and professional services firms (Big 4, strategy firms, and outsourcing partners). Beyond tactical RFP execution, this role will focus on developing long-term strategies, building roadmaps with stakeholders, and ensuring supplier performance and accountability. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of 4–5 procurement professionals. Develop and execute end-to-end category strategies for Professional Services spend. Manage relationships with large consulting firms and professional services providers. Partner with internal business leaders to align procurement strategies with enterprise goals. Negotiate complex contracts, ensuring value creation, compliance, and performance management. Apply structured sourcing methodologies to ensure disciplined and transparent procurement. Build frameworks, processes, and metrics that support category success. Act as a strategic advisor to stakeholders, balancing cost, risk, and value. Qualifications Required 5+ years of people leadership experience, managing and developing teams. 3–5+ years of Professional Services procurement experience (category depth, not generalist). Proven track record in developing and implementing category strategies. Experience negotiating/managing contracts with consulting firms (Big 4, strategy firms, outsourcing partners). Strong stakeholder engagement and executive presence. Process-driven mindset, comfortable in structured and regulated environments. Preferred Experience with structured sourcing frameworks (e.g., 7-step sourcing). Consulting or Big 4 background (internal or client-facing).
