Position Description We are seeking a dedicated HR Generalist or Senior HR Generalist with fundamental knowledge and experience across HR functions. The candidate will be involved in, but not limited to, administering health benefits, recruiting, performance management, employee relations, revising processes, and general compliance matters. This position is eligible for hybrid work, with an expectation of approximately 3 days per week in our Tysons, VA office.

Responsibilities Support the open enrollment process, carrier enrollments, the implementation of employees’ health insurance changes, and administer additional employee benefit programs and perks Manage end-to-end HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle management Regularly collaborate with practice leaders on active positions, manage job postings, review resumes, coordinate interviews, draft offers, and support recruitment programs Provide excellent day-to-day HR support to employees by answering inquiries and assisting with HR-related matters promptly Ensure the payment of monthly bills and invoices in a timely manner Conduct background checks and complete employment verifications Oversee ongoing performance management and annual performance review processes Manage employee relations and conflict resolution with discretion Lead and execute HR programs to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention Maintain paperwork and ensure compliance in all HR operations, including but not limited to, federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and best practices Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various process improvements and projects Stay well-informed of local and federal employment laws and regulations, and maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices Conduct regular HR audits to ensure data accuracy, policy adherence, and overall HR effectiveness Support and enforce company policies and procedures Assist with ad hoc HR projects and collaboration with other departments as assigned

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required At least 3 years of relevant HR Generalist experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred Experience working in a smaller HR team preferred SHRM-CP or similar HR certification preferred

Required Skills/Abilities Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision Knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations Excellent judgment Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Proven track record of successfully managing HR operations, programs, and coordination functions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and delegate tasks when appropriate Proven ability to anticipate needs and work proactively Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions based on data and thorough analysis Strong conflict resolution skills

This full-time position will also have the temporary opportunity to fully lead the HR Department for 16+ weeks.
