Project Manager

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of projects from concept to commissioning. This role involves ensuring that projects meet customer specifications, manage safety, quality, efficiency, and adhere to budgets and timelines. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, and attention to detail to effectively manage multiple ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale refrigeration construction projects from award through commissioning and final punch list, acting as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Review and manage project contracts to ensure alignment with scope and terms.
  • Collaborate with multiple trades to ensure seamless execution, maintaining project quality and timelines.
  • Develop, maintain, and adhere to detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with overall contractor schedules.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and manage the procurement of materials, tools, and equipment for timely delivery to project sites.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national and local vendors for cost-effective procurement of necessary materials.
  • Oversee the project scope and manage change orders as necessary, ensuring customer satisfaction while controlling project costs.
  • Track and support engineering progress throughout the design phase, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Coordinate with purchasing departments to track materials and follow up on delivery schedules.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly in relation to ammonia and CO2-based refrigeration systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all aspects of the project, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and budgets, providing regular updates to leadership and clients.
  • Provide weekend and evening support as needed for field construction work.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing large-scale industrial refrigeration or related projects.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills for cost-effective procurement and problem-solving within project constraints.
  • Ability to make independent business decisions within budget.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills for managing multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software and familiarity with CAD and engineering drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Expertise in ammonia and CO2-based refrigeration systems.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Willingness to travel to construction sites nationwide.

Work Environment

The work environment is based at the headquarters in Lyndhurst, with approximately 250 employees. The team has doubled in size over the last two years and includes 80 engineers and 120 operations personnel. The company specializes in designing, fabricating, and installing customized, turn-key industrial refrigeration systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00/yr. Hiring for IRS benefits and will be FTE.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Lyndhurst, VA.
