Nussbaum Transportation is hiring: Regional Truck Driver in Bonus Township

Overview

Driver positions featuring regional home weekly schedules with a majority of loads within a 350-mile radius. Hiring in Northeast Illinois into Wisconsin. Home weekly, with most workweeks Mon-Fri and full weekends at home. Some trips may require Sunday departures or Saturday returns, but this is less frequent than OTR.

Pay and Benefits

• Earn $63-70K your first year (based on experience; see dropdowns below for a full breakdown).
• Increase your earning potential: Tenure +$0.01 CPM each year (up to $0.50/mile).
• Driver Scorecard Bonus: +$0.02-$0.08/mile (average driver earns $0.03-$0.05).
• Certified RED Bonus: +$0.02/mile.
• Door-to-door practical miles—empty & loaded.
• $1,200 - $1,250 weekly guarantee (based on experience). If miles are short due to delays, breakdowns, etc., you’ll still earn the guaranteed amount.
• Activity pay for the work you do, not just the miles you run:
  • $20 for pickups and deliveries
  • $12 for trailer relays and shuttles
  • $20/hour detention pay (starts after 1 hour)
  • $270 - $280/day layover pay
• Paid Orientation at Nussbaum Headquarters—$200/day
• Health, dental, vision, life, & disability insurance; 401(k) match
• Paid vacation and holidays — $290/day
• Rider policy — $10/month
• Paid parking (100%)
• Employee Stock Ownership Plan — free shares of private Nussbaum stock invested in a supplemental retirement account

Load and Assignment Details

• Majority of loads within a 350-mile radius; some loads up to 400 miles, rarely further.
• Door-to-door practical miles—empty & loaded.

Driver Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older
• At least 6 months of recent experience OR completion of our training program
• Valid CDL A
• No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
• Meet all other Nussbaum requirements

Other Options

• Early Exit Option: If you decide in the first 90 days that Nussbaum isn’t the right fit, you’ll receive a $1,000 bonus after hauling for 30 days and separating before 90 days.
